A Group Therapy Approach to the Treatment of Incest
Résumé :The paper describes an empirically-based group therapy model for adult survivors of childhood incest. Process as well as outcome data based on a sample of 53 women are reported. The findings suggest that group intervention did help reduce depression and improve self-assessment. Follow-up data on levels of depression show that gains at termination were maintained at least six months post-intervention. Further monitoring, testing and fine-tuning of the model is still necessary.
