Empowerment of Incest Survivors: Speaking Out

This case study involves four adult women who were molested as children. It discusses empowerment strategies used to help the women make public presentations about their personal histories. Strategies utilized included modification of the practitioner's role and use of small groups to encourage the presenters to assume valued helping roles. Design elements of this project included the development of a life script, the use of childhood photographs, the use of a song as a vision statement, and the healing interactions between the presenters and audience.
