Résumé :This article outlines the characteristics of incest offenders, including sexual preferences, reported psychopathologies, and psychosocial features. Dynamics present within incest families that relate to the offender also are reviewed. Offender-oriented treatment and the multimodal, family-oriented systems approach to treatment are examined. Outcome studies of therapeutic intervention are noted and future directions for research are discussed.
