Description
Personality Disturbances of Adult Incest Victims
Résumé :Compared the personality profiles of 28 adult female victims of childhood incest who sought therapy with the profiles of 32 adult females who sought therapy but were not victims of incest. A demographic questionnaire was administered to these Ss, along with the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI). Findings indicate a significant difference between the incest and nonincest population on 9 of the 20 MCMI scales, with the incest group scoring higher on 16 of the 20 scales. The study indicates that the incest population demonstrates pathology in ways that are different from the general clinical population, which implies that practitioners must address this difference in their assessment and treatment of incest victims.
