Description

Titre :

Female lives, feminist deaths: The relationship of the Montreal massacre to dissociation, incest, and violence against women.

Contenu :

Discusses the mass murder of 14 women in Montreal in 1989 in the context of the author's work with incest survivors. It is claimed that the massacre of 14 women by a mysogynist male can be placed in a context and viewed as a public version of the private lives of abused women, one end of a broad spectrum of misogynist rage and violence that can erupt at any time against randomly selected women in the forms of rape, incest, battering, harassment, vilification, and abuse.
